the plan was to start from Warsaw and hitchhike all the way to Helsinki, crossing five countries and visiting all the capitals on the way
I honestly was blown away by the kindness of strangers. this man was the first one we approached after a stranger had given us a ride to a gas station, which was on our way to Vilnius - our first destination.
He immediately offered us to join him, since he was going there too. And although we didn't share one common language we exchanged many stories and experiences, all with the help of google translate.
After a five-hour drive, he drove us directly to our home for the next two nights.

Vilnius is beautiful and made quite the impression on me.
After asking what felt like a thousand people we got a ride to a better gas station. There we found a trucker who was willing to drive us just in front of Riga - our second destination.
It was one of the best experiences of the whole journey, sitting high over the street, and having the best talk with someone who has traveled the world his entire life.

We arrived in the early evening, after catching one last lift a few kilometers from Riga.
The stay in Riga was really nice and full of new impressions.
In Tallinn, we were greeted with a beautiful sunset. We met with our Couchsurfing host in the evening.
With her, we went hiking and picked some berries. We made some lunch together and enjoyed the estonian beverage "Kali".
Although it was raining a lot in Helsinki, we managed to see many of the most popular spots.
After a couple of days, we took back the ferry to Tallinn and flew home to Berlin.
